Workshops

If you want to learn now to make a willow basket for yourself then why not learn at a workshop. I run workshops in the Cambridge area. However, due to looking after my young family full time, I am not currently running workshops. For details of basketmaking workshops, you could look at the list of workshops on the Basketmakers Association website.

Some Previous Workshops:

Make a Blackbird's Nest - 1 November 2008, Museum of Archeaology and Anthropology, Downing Street, Cambridge.	The workshop was free and was running as part of their Festival of Ideas. Students used traditional willow basket making techniques to make a simple bowl, which they could use to encourage blackbirds to next in their garden.
	12 and 13 July 2008 - Round willow baskets for beginners and improvers. Make your own round basket (or two) with a handle. At Whittlesford Memorial Hall, Whittlesford, Cambridge. Here are the students at the end of the workshop with their finished baskets.
	26 and 27 July 2008 - Oval willow baskets for beginners and improvers. Make your own oval basket (or two) with a handle. At Whittlesford Memorial Hall, Whittlesford, Cambridge. Here are the students and me at the end of the workshop, showing the baskets they have made.

The cost of all the workshops is £75 per person for the two days. The price includes materials for one basket. If you want to make a second basket there will be an additional cost of £5 for the extra willow.  Tea and coffee will be provided but you will need to bring your own lunch.

Alternatively, if you would like me to run a workshop for you or your group then please contact me for further information. A beginners basket making course usually requires two days for everyone to make a small to medium basket with a handle.
