15 May - Trip to London to see St Pauls

Charlie loves watching Mary Poppins and is very interested in St Paul's Cathedral so we finally went on a trip to see it. We went down to London on the train and then took a bus to St Pauls. We looked around inside and then climbed the tower (being carried by Daddy and Mummy). First we looked down from the inside of the dome and then we climbed more and got outside and saw lots of London from the top including the London Eye. When we came out, Charlie pretended to be a pigeon on the steps of St Pauls. After a picnic lunch we went to the Museum of London where we found the three bears' house [a replica anglo-saxon house - ed] and we made porridge for the three bears.

13 May - Brian's third birthday

We went to Brian's birthday party this afternoon. The weather was nice so we played in  the garden before having the birthday tea (here is Millie and Brian). Brian had a cake like a robot. It looked so yummy everyone wanted a bit before Chrissie even had a chance to cut it up!

10 May - We have a new cousin!

Baby Jonas arrived at 10pm last night. Phil went into labour at about 10am yesterday and got very well progressed by mid afternoon, however things didn't continue like that and little Jonas was determined not to make an appearance too early. Phil needed to go into hospital at 9pm but ended up beating the anaethatist who was coming to give her an epidural and delivered Jonas herself on just gas and air. Well done Phil! Mummy stayed at Phil's house to clear and tidy up and to wait for the midwife to return and pick up her stuff so didn't get to see the baby until today. More pictures are on Rosie's website.

We wrapped presents for Rosie and Jonas this morning and went to see our new cousin this afternoon. Mummy got to give him a cuddle and Millie patted him. He is very small and cute and is a "waa, waa baaby" as Millie would say.

9 May - Sawston Fun Run

Mummy went off to run in the Sawston Fun Run with some of her colleagues from John Huntingdon's Charity. We went with Daddy to see her off, and then we waited further along the route to see her running past again (stopping to buy cakes at the cake stall on the way). She did very well and ran the 7km/5m course in about an hour and raised well over £100 for charity. Here she is running with JHC girls: Trudy (on the left) and Hilary (on the right). After lunch she went off to Phil's house to help baby Jonas to come out of Phil's tummy, and she got back very late.

3 May 2010 - May Day Bank Holiday

And what a better way to spend a bank holiday than mowing the lawn? Charlie mowed the lawn while Daddy wandered around with his toy.

20 April 2010

Rosie and Phil hung out at our house today. When Phil got tired in the afternoon we left her having a nap and went for a trip on the bike to Lynton Way park (Charlie and Rosie in the trailer). Here we all are in the big swing having fun.

16 April - Church Hall re-opens looking shiny and new.

Mummy helps run and manage the church hall, and has spent lots of time over the last weekend cleaning windows, scraping things and fixing things following completion of the works to replace the floor and roof and install new toilets and a meeting room. The church hall was re-opened this afternoon and we went to have tea and cake and have a look round. Charlie enjoyed exploring all the toilets and was very pleased there were no hand driers. Millie liked the flap jack and meeting people.

9 April 2010 - a sunny day

As it was a lovely day we decided to go to Lynton Way park and have a picnic lunch. Here is Charlie showing off his new haircut that Mummy did at home yesterday. Millie enjoyed the slide.

Easter 2010.

We went to visit Nanny and Grandad for Easter. On the first night we had a lovely meal with all of Daddy's family. Millie had her first taste of wine and decided she wanted more (its a pity everyone else had wanted more before Millie got to the bottle!). We all had lots of yummy chocolate to eat on Easter day and new sailor teddy bears came from Granny and Grandad (they are called Sailor Sam and Sailor Sandy). We also had a few trips out and about which were fun. We went to Avoncroft museum of buildings. Here is Charlie in a tudor house and Millie with Daddy in front of an ice house.

24 March - Birthday outing to Wimpole Hall

Rosie stayed the night and in the morning we all went on an outing to Wimpole farm. Ruth and Granny and Grandad met us there and we all went round together. We had a picnic lunch and had lots of fun playing with old henhouses and riding tractors and putting sand in our hair and stroking sheep and goats. When we got home we all had tea and cake and then Rosie's Mummy and Daddy took her her home. It had been a very tiring day and we all had an early night.

23 March  - Charlie's 3rd birthday!

Charlie opened his presents in the morning and then we went to the park. While Millie was napping Charlie put together his lego farm, tractor and trailer that Ruth gave him (with a little guidance from Mummy). In the afternoon his friends arrived for the party. Rosie chose a nice ballet tutu for Millie to wear and she had a nice cuddle with uncle Andrew before they headed off for the night. Brian, Abigail and Laura also came to the party, and Charlie had a teddy bear cake.

20 February - Rosie's Birthday Party

This afternoon we went to Rosie's party. The theme was a sing along Mamma Mia, so there was lots of dancing and dressing up. Charlie and Millie spent most of the time eating all the yummy party food. After all the dancing we played pass the parcel. Happy Birthday Rosie!!!

Millie's Godmother Sue came with us to Funky Funhouse for a day out. We played all morning and stayed for lunch. We were having so much fun that we didn't want to leave.  Charlie loves charging around and going down the slide. Millie liked playing with balls and practising her climbing skills.

28 December - Visit to Nanny and Grandad Clapp

We went to visit Nanny and Grandad for a few days. Our second (or third?) cousin Flynn came to visit with his mummy Sarah (Daddy's cousin), and Granny Pam. Daddy's Auntie Joy came too and bought us some presents which was a nice suprise. Millie enjoyed sitting on Grandad (or anyone sitting in her favorite chair).

25th December - Happy Christmas!

We spent the day just as a family (although we went to visit Granny and Grandad Baines on Christmas eve and had some presents early). We opened our stockings in the morning and then opened our presents under the tree. We had chicken for Christmas dinner but Mummy made stuffing, bread sauce and pigs in blankets so we had all the trimmings. Here you see us having eaten our Christmas pudding and all very happy. On Boxing Day Rosie, Phil, Andrew and Auntie Claudia came over for cheese and crackers and Christmas cake.

18 December - fun in the snow

It has been snowing over the last few days and Charlie and Millie have been enjoying playing in it. Charlie and Mummy made a snowman, but Mummy has not had any spare hands to take pictures. On Friday we met up with Rosie and Phil and went to the Fawcet Toddler group Christmas party. Phil took a nice picture of us walking over in the snow. At the party there was lots of yummy food and then Santa arrived. Charlie was a bit shy and Millie loved his beard!
