Spin and Chat meetings are informal. Members bring spinning wheels, inkle looms, knitting or other related craft activities, to do their own thing. We share ideas, help beginners and enjoy each others' company. The meetings start (and often continue) with a bit of chit-chat. We then spend the evening spinning, weaving or carrying on with our latest projects. You will probably be persuaded to buy a raffle ticket or two before we break for a cup of tea/coffee halfway through the evening.
Speaker meetings start with the talk and we have our tea/coffee and the raffle afterwards whilst asking the speaker any further questions, or looking at their displays.
Workshops are an opportunity to either have a go at a new technique or skill, or improve and expand the skills we already have. These are held from 10am until 4pm on a Saturday. It is very interesting to see what different members can produce from essentially the same starting materials!
Our evening meetings are held at Oxlease Methodist Church, Woods Avenue, Hatfield from 7.30 to 10.00 p.m. The car park is accessed via Cedar Road.
